GRAPHICS

I love graphics for their honesty. You can't hide here - the line immediately shows what you're about and what state you're in.  In graphics I mainly work with the body. My figures are often in a semi-nude, extremely frank state - and not just physically. The body is not there for the gaze, but for inner revelation. For me it's not about anatomy or eroticism. It is about human presence - fragile, authentic, often silent.  The empty space on a piece of paper is often unfilled with a background, unadorned with details. The emptiness is also a drawing. It is the silence in which the figure resounds. I do not strive for finality. It is important to me that the work remains unspoken so that the viewer can see their own. I use color when I feel it is needed. Sometimes it's just a spot, sometimes it's an accent that “holds” the whole composition together. My work is about mood. About the silence within. About moments when one is alone with oneself - and there is something important in that. Graphics for me is like a conversation without words. Honest, uneven, but real.
