“IN THE CIRCLE” is less an image of the body than a reflection on the boundaries of our own presence. The body separates us from the world, yet it is also where the outside becomes part of our inner reality. The circular movement has no clear beginning or end: the figure seems to return to itself without reaching a final point of rest. For me, wholeness does not necessarily mean balance or clarity. I let the boundary between body and space become unstable. Colour and organic forms enter the figure, while anatomy loses definition. This reflects how we are shaped by what we have lived through, loved, feared, and allowed into ourselves. The initial visual impulse was only a point of departure. What interested me more was what happens when we remain inside our own experience without immediately trying to explain or correct it. The circle can be shelter and limitation, wholeness and repetition, closeness to oneself and the impossibility of fully stepping outside oneself. This is one of my most intimate works.
